Suzuki Swift Dzire

Car leader Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Swift Dzire by the end of this month and is most probably going to replace the suzuki esteem. Swift Dzire, which is a sedan version of Swift, will be offered in petrol as well as DDiS multijet diesel versions. “The image of a hatchback and styling of Swift is carried forward to the Sedan. The new car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.” says Mayank Patel, of Maruti Suzuki India.

The Swift Dzire will sport a new grille, new fog lamp insert and tail lights with horizontal turn indicators. But what distinguishes it from the Swift hatchback is spaciousness. The Dzire, in addition, commands enhanced interiors without any alteration to wheelbase. Extra shoulder room and head room at the rear, further, adds to increased comfort. Security add-ins like ABS and twin airbags prove to be pluses too. According to company sources, Maruti Swift Dzire is slated to be priced below Maruti SX4- the petrol version competitively priced between Rs 4.75- 5 lakhs and the diesel version at a slightly stiffer value of upwards of Rs 5.5 lakhs. Maruti, reportedly, is also jacking up its plant capacity at Manesar to touch 3 lakh units per year by 2010- up by a significant margin from the current 1.4 lakh units per annum.

The Car is the ugliest piece of vehicle engineering I have seen in my life. Add to the difficult on the eye proportions and this is for the aesthetically challenged. This car should NOT be allowed on the roads!

The Mileage is reported to be 2 kmpl lesser than its hatchback version, at around 14kmpl for the diesel and 11kmpl for the petrol.
